When I saw a trailer for the first Mass Effect many years ago, I couldn’t make heads or tails of it. It looked like yet another space marine game, which I had grown tired of at that point.
Only a few years ago did I rediscover the trilogy and devoured it wholeheartedly. It was literally “binge-gaming,” non-stop playing over several weeks.
The story of Commander Shepard and the Normandy crew is undoubtedly one of the best I’ve ever played. The world of Mass Effect is well thought out and extremely detailed. Even if especially the first part suffers from a weak combat system, this issue can be overlooked.
The polished Mass Effect trilogy looks great and has resolved many problems of the originals. It’s a must for all RPG fans.
For whom is Mass Effect worth it? Sci-Fi fans will find an exciting, deep space story with Mass Effect. But players who value a good story in their games should take a look at the trilogy.
