Welcome to our list of the best shooters. You are on page 5 – here you can return to the homepage.
Battlefield – Franchise
What makes the game special? Battlefield and Call of Duty have split the shooter market for some time, while the rest was seen as niche. While CoD long focused only on small skirmishes like 6v6, Battlefield focused on large battles involving tanks.
With the latest title Battlefield 2042, the franchise lost significant prestige. The release was miserable, and the advertised innovations did not go over well (128 players/no class gameplay).
However, the latest title has since reverted to classes and has revised its maps to be compatible with battles involving 64 players. And even if you cannot connect with 2042, the predecessors Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 1 are still actively played.
What game modes are available? The main mode consists of conquests. The large maps typically offer 5 capture points that need to be held by both teams. The more points you hold, the more penalties the opponents incur when killing one of their soldiers. Heavy war equipment often joins the fray as well.
You can also play a classic team deathmatch, and the breakthrough mode is also very popular. In breakthrough, the map shifts when a point is captured.
Battlefield 2042 also features the portal mode. Here, you can create your own modes and even specify which components from older Battlefield games you want in your mode.
Who should take a closer look at the game? Compared to similar shooters, Battlefield is relatively beginner-friendly but can produce a high degree of immersion. Due to the high player counts in matches, there is always something happening around you, and you are right in the action.
However, it can sometimes take a while to reach the action. If the entire team goes down, you often have to traverse long distances to get back into action.
If you are looking for a shooter that delivers large and long battles, providing a different dynamic each time, then you should check out the Battlefield series. Which part you play should be determined by the setting.

Team Fortress
What makes the game special? Team Fortress is old, colorful, and a little bit crazy. It offers different characters with abilities, has tons of modes, and above all: even now, it has an incredibly large player base. At the time of the article update, there were over 100,000 players in-game.
Although Team Fortress hasn’t received any real content updates in a long time, it remains one of the largest games on Steam and is extremely popular. The developers continue to release balancing updates regularly and fix bugs.
What game modes are available? Team Fortress offers something for everyone: from Capture the Flag to Team Deathmatch to Attack-Defense modes – there’s something for every taste.
Who should take a closer look at the game? Team Fortress offers you, like Overwatch, heroes with different abilities, but is somewhat less reliant on team play.
There are heroes who can stealthily operate behind enemy lines, as well as supporters who prefer to stay in the back behind broad shoulders.
If the humor of the game appeals to you and you have a few friends willing to embark on this crazy journey, then take a look at this classic.
