Firefly is set in a future where humans have left their home solar system and live in a colony far away. The story revolves around the crew of the spaceship Serenity, which consists of criminals and smugglers who ensure their survival through various jobs.
The mix of sci-fi and western pleases many viewers and creates an extraordinary series concept with interesting characters, each of whom has their own motives.
Especially Nathan Fillion in his role as captain of the Serenity, who pursues personal goals while remaining loyal to his crew, is often praised.
Additionally, the series features humorous moments and dialogues in the style of Joss Whedon, where characters throw quips at each other.
What IMDb ratings say: With 9.0 stars, the series receives a top rating on IMDb. A total of 274,574 people have voted on it.

Fun fact: According to whatculture.com, there was a running gag among the cast. When they messed up their lines, they called out Summer’s name. This originated because she once forgot her lines during a particularly tricky scene.
