1. Destoroyah
- First appeared in the film Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995)
Destoroyah is not only one of the most powerful Kaijū in the films but also thematically connected to Godzilla’s first appearance in 1954. He was created from the oxygen destroyer that killed the first Godzilla at that time. The weapon caused an unusual evolution in a small species of crustaceans, ultimately leading to Destoroyah. A being composed of billions of microorganisms.
In his final form, he resembles an even more monstrous version of Godzilla, with crystals and wings reminiscent of vampires. As Godzilla was about to destroy the world due to overheating, the humans lured him to Destoroyah. In the battle, he injured Godzilla’s child, making the lizard furious.
In the brutal fight, both monsters fiercely attacked each other, but Destoroyah initially had the upper hand. Even with his atomic laser, Godzilla could do nothing, as Destoroyah reassembled through his microorganisms while crustaceans attacked Godzilla.
Only thanks to a beam of ice from the humans was Destoroyah defeated. Godzilla overheated and died alongside Destoroyah. However, his child survived and continued to protect the world.
Of course, this is just a fraction of the many monsters from the Godzilla universe. If your favorite is missing from this list, feel free to write it in the comments. You can learn more about Godzilla and how he actually originated here: Everyone knows Godzilla, but few know what he really is
