In Call of Duty: Warzone, there are now over 70 primary weapons, and many weapons are considered stronger and more viable than ever. MeinMMO shows you the currently most popular firearms with a short explanation and setup.
In the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone, strong weapons often define themselves through an appealing mix of power and stability. However, developers frequently adjust the weapon balancing, add new firearms, or change the old ones. To keep you informed about what’s currently happening with weapons in the Warzone, you will find here on MeinMMO the current most popular weapons among players.
Where do the data come from? This ranking listed here comes from the data tool “WZ Ranked”. On this page, you can find detailed data sets of your matches, but also large rankings of the most popular weapons and their setups. The 10 weapons listed here were used in the week from January 25th to 31st.
However, there are limitations. The CoD developers closed a data interface (API) a few weeks ago, and players now have to manually access this on “callofduty.com” to become part of the data sets. Previously, this interface was open by default. “WZ Ranked” states that they can currently analyze between 2% and 6% of the global loadout data sets and thus provide a good cross-section of the weapons used.

After the long-requested nerf of the overpowered DMR 14, only 2 weapons from Cold War can hold their ground in the top 10 of the Warzone. However, the DMR remains strong and lands in 11th place on the ranking, thus falling out of the list.
“WZ Ranked” additionally shows the most used setups alongside the ranking. In the following paragraphs, you will find a short description of the weapons regarding their use case and the most popular attachment combinations.

10. HDR – Long Range Sniper with High Precision: 3 %
What can the weapon do? The HDR is a true sniper: precise, stable, and deadly. However, it also feels slow. For secure hits over long distances in the Warzone, the HDR is your best companion.

9. M13 – The Most Stable Assault Rifle: 3.1 %
What can the weapon do? The M13 fires quickly and precisely and is a true laser with attachments. However, it burns through ammunition and causes little damage per bullet.

8. MP5 from CoD MW – Strong Performer Since Release: 3.8 %
What can the weapon do? This MP has been among the top tier since the Warzone release and can still be considered one of the best SMGs in the Warzone. The close combat weapon offers a good mix of damage and relatively high range for an SMG.

What can the weapon do? The M4 is like the MP5 of assault rifles. Also a standout since the Warzone release, it offers a good balance of damage, stability, and handling. A strong choice for players who find the Grau too weak and the AMAX too wobbly.

6. CR-56 AMAX – Hard Hits and Good Range: 5.6 %
What can the weapon do? The AMAX hits hard and deals very high damage. However, its painful hits come with a bit of stability, making its recoil significantly more noticeable than that of the M4A1.

What can the weapon do? The only assault rifle from Cold War on the list also shines with damage but also has a high fire rate. The FFAR 1 can compete with SMGs, but from 60 meters onwards, it becomes difficult and harder to hit consistently.

What can the weapon do? The Grau was the summer hit of 2020 in the Warzone and not a one-hit wonder. Despite several nerfs, the very stable weapon remains popular and enters our charts in 4th place.

3. Kilo 141 – Still in Business Despite Major Nerf: 9 %
What can the weapon do? The Kilo was at the top of the weapon rankings before the integration of Cold War into the Warzone the lonely peak. It becomes very stable after a few shots and deals more damage than the Grau. However, it received a significant range nerf and now requires a lot of bullets at long distances. Since it is still very precise, it remains popular.

2. Kar 98k – World War Weapon Modernized Like Never Before: 12.9 %
What can the weapon do? The Kar can knock out enemies with a headshot like a big sniper weapon. However, it is significantly more mobile. It shines with high bullet velocity but lacks in target stability.

1. MAC-10 – Fast-Firing SMG in Almost Every 6th Loadout: 16.2 %
What can the weapon do? With a considerable distance ahead of other automatic weapons, a “Cold War” weapon can secure the top spot. The MAC-10 has good damage, decent range for an SMG, and allows you to control the high fire rate well. It is a strong secondary weapon if you know its limits and when to use it.

The right weapon already brings you a decent part of the rent in Verdansk, but it is still no guarantee for a victory. Much depends on making the right decisions in a fraction of a second and outplaying enemies.
