Rank 5: Sansa Stark
Few had to go through such a painful development as Sansa Stark. She survived the torments of Joffrey, the manipulations of Cersei and Petyr Baelish, and the cruelties of Ramsay Bolton. While her siblings learned to fight or use magic, Sansa learned to play the Game of Thrones. And she did so very successfully.
After the Starks had almost lost all their power, she played a key role in reclaiming Winterfell from the Boltons. She became the voice of reason, a strong leader, and protector of the North.
Ultimately, she achieved what had seemed impossible since Aegon’s conquest: the independence of the North. With her coronation as “Queen in the North,” she not only brought the king’s title back to her family but also became the first woman ever to claim this title.
