The mother’s eyes
Lastly, an absolute classic among film mistakes from Harry Potter: Throughout the films, it is repeatedly emphasized that Harry has his mother’s eyes. In other words: The eyes of both characters would be the same color.
According to the books, the color would be green. However, since Harry’s actor Daniel Radcliffe has blue eyes and could not wear contact lenses due to an allergy, they decided against green and went with blue.
When casting the adult mother, care was taken. However, years later, a significant mistake occurred with the decision-makers. In a flashback, we see Harry’s mother Lily Potter as a child. Her eyes are shown in a close-up and are anything but blue. Instead of bright blue eyes, we see dark brown ones.
How can the mistake happen? This can only be explained by the fact that there was careless work during the casting process and the detail about the eyes was forgotten. Also, in post-production, no one may have noticed the mistake. Otherwise, it would have been easy to correct it in the age of visual effects by digitally changing the color.
