Frodo’s Injury
Another case of two scenes that were probably shot with a significant time gap. In the dramatic finale at Mount Doom, Frodo fights Gollum for the Ring and gets injured in the process. A clearly visible cut remains on his right cheek.
After the destruction of the Ring, Sam rescues his friend from the collapsing cave. When Frodo regains consciousness, the camera gives a close-up. As if by magic, the cut has suddenly migrated to his left cheek – the right side seems fine.
Here, the makeup team did not pay enough attention, and the error was also not noticed during editing. Otherwise, it would have been easy to shift the injury to the other cheek using visual effects. Other mistakes like the car in the background were removed in this way too.
