Éomer, Watch Your Sword!
In the second part, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli meet Éomer and his loyal troop, who have broken away from King Théoden – played by the unfortunately deceased Bernhard Hill. The situation seems precarious at first, but when Aragorn applies diplomacy, a fight can be prevented.
In the following conversation, there is a comical moment: Éomer is sitting on his horse and wearing a sword in a sheath on his belt. It is positioned at an awkward angle, actually slipping down from the sheath and falling to the ground. None of the characters react to the mistake, which makes the situation all the stranger. You can also watch the scene on YouTube. It’s a detail that was overlooked both on set and in editing, and once you know about it, it’s hard to ignore.
