A King is Out of Sync
Our final mistake again concerns the prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring. Here, we learn not only how the rings were forged but also who received them. Among them are nine kings of men who later become the Nazgûl.
In one shot, we see how the kings are lined up on two sides in succession, holding their rings with their outer hands raised. All? No, one king apparently had no desire during the shoot or missed the cue.
The one who stands all the way to the right should actually raise his left hand and look at the ring. Instead, he does nothing and stands completely still. Probably all the attention of Peter Jackson and his team was focused in the center of the picture, so this error simply went unnoticed at the edge.
