Currently, there are a total of 9 characters who can wield a polearm:
- Shenhe
- Yun Jin
- Thoma
- Raiden Shogun
- Rosaria
- Hu Tao
- Xiao
- Zhongli
- Xiangling
The best 5-star polearm: Homa Staff
- Stats at Level 1: Base Attack: 46, CD: 14.4 %
- Stats at Level 90: Base Attack: 608, CD: 66.2 %
What makes the weapon so good? The Homa Staff is often considered the best weapon in the game by the community. The staff can be equipped by nearly every polearm wielder who is primarily supposed to deal damage due to its high additional CD and its extremely useful effect.
The effect increases your HP by at least 20 % and simultaneously your attack by 0.8 % of the maximum HP. If your HP falls below 50 %, the staff increases your attack even further.
The best 4-star polearm: Duel Lance
- Stats at Level 1: Base Attack: 41, CR: 8 %
- Stats at Level 90: Base Attack: 454, CR: 36.8 %
What makes the weapon so good? The Duel Lance gives you valuable CR as a sub-stat. But especially the effect is worth it: If you face more than 2 enemies, both your attack and defense (DEF) increase by at least 16 %. If you fight against a single enemy, your attack increases by at least a whopping 24 %.
Almost every spear bearer can benefit from the effect and the sub-stat.
Extra: Himmelsgrat
The spear Himmelsgrat deserves a special mention because it can be effective on any spear user when no other spear is available.
- Stats at Level 1: Base Attack: 48, Charge Rate: 8 %
- Stats at Level 90: Base Attack: 674, Charge Rate: 36.8 %
What makes the weapon so good? Himmelsgrat has one of the highest base attack values and grants your character additional charge rate. Also, the CR is increased by 8 % and the normal attack speed by 12 %.
If you are playing a spear user who also attacks physically, the second part of the effect may become useful. This is because you can create a vacuum blade 50 % of the time when you hit enemies with standard attacks and heavy strikes. This vacuum blade inflicts additional damage on enemies while you attack.
The best catalysts
Currently, there are a total of 8 characters who can wield a catalyst:
- Kokomi Sangonomiya
- Yanfei
- Klee
- Mona
- Saccharose
- Ningguang
- Barbara
- Lisa
The best 5-star catalyst: Prayers of the Four Winds
- Stats at Level 1: Base Attack: 46, CR: 7.2 %
- Stats at Level 90: Base Attack: 608, CR: 33.1 %
What makes the weapon so good? Prayers of the Four Winds gives you a good amount of CR as a sub-stat. Additionally, the effect is incredibly useful, as all catalyst users deal elemental damage, and the book increases elemental damage by 8 % every 4 seconds after switching characters.
Overall, you can deal 28 % additional elemental damage. The effect remains until you switch the character again or become incapacitated.
The best 4-star catalyst: Landstreichernoten
- Stats at Level 1: Base Attack: 42, CD: 12 %
- Stats at Level 90: Base Attack: 510, CD: 55.1 %
What makes the weapon so good? In addition to the extra CD as a sub-stat, Landstreichernoten grants you one of 3 random effects lasting 10 seconds when you switch heroes, all of which are very worthwhile for catalysts:
- Attack increase of 60 %
- Elemental damage increased by 48 %
- 240 additional points for elemental mastery
Extras: Himmelsatlas and Of the Heroic Deeds of the Dragon Slayer
The Himmelsatlas and the Dragon Slayer should not go unmentioned as both catalysts are also incredibly strong for catalysts.
Himmelsatlas:
- Stats at Level 1: Base Attack: 48, ATK: 7.2 %
- Stats at Level 90: Base Attack: 674, ATK: 33.1 %
What makes the weapon so good? The Himmelsatlas can be equipped on any catalyst user who does not have their signature weapon or other good books. It has the highest base attack of all catalysts and gives you additional attack as a sub-stat.
While it doesn’t increase elemental damage as much as Prayers of the Four Winds or Landstreichernoten, it does give you 12 %. Furthermore, you have the chance to unleash an AoE attack when hitting enemies with normal attacks. 160 % of your attack is dealt to them.
Of the Heroic Deeds of the Dragon Slayer:
- Stats at Level 1: Base Attack: 39, HP: 7.7 %
- Stats at Level 90: Base Attack: 401, HP: 35.2 %
What makes the weapon so good? Special mention goes to the 3-star weapon, Heroic Deeds of the Dragon Slayer. No other 3-star weapon is as good and useful as this one – even in the late game. You don’t use it for the stats, but for the effect.
When you switch the book carrier, the incoming character receives at least a 24 % attack boost. Since the Dragon Slayer can be obtained more frequently, you shouldn’t have any problems getting it to refinement level 5. After that, it gives the incoming hero a whopping 48 % more attack.
Preferably, supporters are equipped with this weapon or sub-DPS who simply want to enhance the main DPS even further. So don’t throw this book away – it’s one of the best catalysts in the game.
