How does The Last of Us – Part II play: You play as the young woman Ellie in the second part instead of Joel like in the first one. The gameplay in the sequel, however, is heavily oriented towards the first part.
You encounter the infected, zombie-like victims of a plague that appear in various forms, with further variants introduced in Part II. You can fight them with various weapons such as knives, pistols, and bows, or sneak past them and eliminate them from ambush.
Part II also expands the gameplay from Part 1 to include jumping, dodging, crawling, and hiding—in grass, as Ellie is more mobile than Joel.
