What is Wasteland 3? After a series of meteorite impacts, a nuclear war broke out in 1998 between the USA and the Soviet Union, which wiped out a majority of humanity. In Wasteland 3, you take on the role of Desert Rangers fighting against a self-proclaimed patriarch and his gang in Colorado, aiming to save the state of Arizona.
The studio is also responsible for popular games like The Bard’s Tale (2004) and The Bard’s Tale IV: Barrows in the Deep (2018). Wasteland 3 was planned since 2016 and financed through crowdfunding.
How does Wasteland 3 play: Similar to Mutant Year Zero, Wasteland is played in an isometric view and as a strategic, turn-based role-playing game. You explore the world in real-time, but combat occurs in phases.
You play with a group of six rangers that you can customize with perks and abilities to adapt to your play style. The combat is similar to the predecessor. Unlike Wasteland 2, Wasteland 3 also provides you with a vehicle, a Battle Truck. Additionally, you have the option to play in coop with a friend.
