Better Devil is a legendary hand cannon and is equipped in the kinetic slot. Not much needs to be said about this weapon. It is regarded by most Guardians as the uncontested king of hand cannons and, with its Fatebringer flair, is a must-have for anyone who enjoys using hand cannons. It belongs to the currently strongest hand cannon archetype and, thanks to its stats and perks, is a solid alternative even to the best scouts and auto rifles in the kinetic slot.
The only real drawback of this weapon is that it eclipses nearly all other hand cannons, thus drastically limiting the effective options for weapon choice for most Guardians. Anyone who possesses the Better Devil has little reason to resort to other alternatives. This situation is unlikely to change significantly even with the upcoming weapon adjustments. The already powerful Better Devil will likely still remain the seemingly best legendary hand cannon.
True Prophecy
True Prophecy is a legendary hand cannon and is equipped in the kinetic slot. It performs exceptionally well in PvE and is a true hard-hitter with minimal damage drop-off thanks to its enormous power. With the perk Extended Mag, it reloads almost as quickly as Better Devil as soon as the magazine is empty. Reload mods can further reduce this time. At the same time, it can even surpass the supposed king of hand cannons in terms of range and explosion damage.
The flinch of the weapon, meaning the shaking of the aiming view when hit by enemies, is also relatively low. While this weapon is definitely not for everyone – one must first get used to the delayed explosion of Time Payload to use it effectively – once you get the hang of it, Prophecy becomes a serious alternative to Better Devil and performs well in PvP as well. The upcoming changes will soon make this already very good weapon even more powerful.
