The Update milestone 1.1.2 for Destiny 2 is approaching rapidly. Many weapon classes are set to be upgraded. Hand cannons will also receive a significant buff. We will show you which hand cannons might be particularly worthwhile after the March update.
Here’s what is supposed to change for the weapon class “hand cannons”:
The PvE damage is increased for all hand cannons
The precision multiplier is increased for precision hand cannons
The targeting on consoles is improved
The precision when shooting from the hip and using the targeting device is increased
The weapon precision in the air is increased
Some weapon perks will also be revised:
Reinforced reserves, Kill Clip, and Rampage will receive an increased PvE damage. Rampage will also gain an increased duration.
Dragonfly will receive increased damage, increased radius, and stronger visual effects.
Grave Robber now replenishes half instead of a third of the magazine.
The damage of Time Payload is split into 55 Explosion / 45 Direct. Previously, the direct damage was higher.
The explosion damage of explosive rounds will be reduced in PvE. This reduction will be offset by an increase in damage for all base weapons in PvE. Weapons with explosive rounds will therefore not deal less damage.
We show you a selection of hand cannons that, due to their perks and performance, already represent an absolutely convincing choice for PvP and PvE. Starting March 27th, these weapons will benefit even more from the upcoming changes and could be even more worthwhile for you.
Don’t miss out on the following hand cannons:
The strongest hand cannons after the March update in Destiny 2
The best hand cannons in Destiny 2: Judgment
Judgment is a legendary hand cannon from the Trials of Osiris and is carried in the kinetic slot. It performs remarkably well in PvP and plays better than it might appear at first glance. It is very stable and has good power and a decent reload speed. The vertical recoil behavior is slightly predictable and can be easily compensated. The perk Moving Target provides the weapon with a noticeable increase in aim assist, which pays off especially in Guardian duels.
With the upcoming buffs for hand cannons, Judgment will become even more precise and should not be overlooked, especially for PvP.
The best hand cannons in Destiny 2: Storm
Storm is an exotic hand cannon and is carried in the kinetic slot. It is a fundamentally solid weapon capable of downing an opponent with 3 shots. With correct use of the perk Storm and Stress, even 2 shots may suffice. However, due to better legendary alternatives and the fact that Storm can only reach its full potential in conjunction with Drang in the energy weapon slot, this weapon is rarely used.
With the upcoming buffs of update 1.1.2, the weapon will generally become stronger. However, as part of the revision of Exotics, this hand cannon is also set to be significantly improved. Although the changes are not planned until May, a brief tweet from the developers indicated that the changes are already looking very promising in testing. So you should definitely keep an eye on this weapon in the future.
