Not Arcane, but Cyberpunk: Edgerunners takes the victory in this ranking. The series with 10 episodes takes place in the universe of the video game by CD Projekt Red. The story tells of David, who arrives at the Arasaka Academy. When he meets Lucy, he becomes involved with the dark sides of Night City.
The animated series is regarded by many users as a masterpiece and a perfect adaptation. The story is shocking but balances with light moments to provide hope. Additionally, the soundtrack, animations, and character design impress greatly.
Thus, the series is not only a great recommendation for fans of Cyberpunk 2077. Anyone interested in the genre should definitely check this out. Edgerunners remained in the top 10 on Netflix for four weeks and was viewed for 77 million hours by the end of 2025 (via whats-on-netflix.com).
What does the ranking say? The list shows that there are now a whole range of good gaming series. Viewers reward adaptations that stay close to the source material and convey its essence well.
If that’s not the case, criticism pours in. Depending on the production, viewers express their concerns about weaknesses and changes in the series, sometimes more loudly, sometimes less. The best example is probably The Witcher, where the recasting of Geralt led to controversies and passionate discussions.
Passion is a good keyword: More than with conventional series, gaming fans pay close attention to what is done with their beloved brands. Fans love in-depth stories and characters they can empathize with. While not all series make it to the top of the Netflix charts, a loyal yet strict community enjoys this content and ultimately gives it the deserved rating.
