9. Green Goblin vs. Spider-Man
- Movie: Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
The 3rd Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland fully relies on nostalgia. Not only are there returning villains, but Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield also return as 2 actors of the wall-crawler. The most exciting by far is the Green Goblin, once again portrayed by Willem Dafoe. He has some cool fight scenes, but the emotional finale is probably the highlight.
The fight itself is not especially spectacularly choreographed, but it puts young Spider-Man to a hard test. After May’s death, Peter is furious, and that is reflected in the fight. He strikes harder than ever, and the Goblin stands no chance.
Just before Peter tries to kill the villain with his glider, his other versions intervene. Maguire’s version stops him and prevents Peter from doing something he would regret forever. It not only wraps up the moral question of the film but also serves as a handover of the other actors to Tom Holland.
