8. The Season of the Bugs with infinite Super Power
This is what makes the bug special: Season 9, the Season of Dawn, as a whole has earned the nickname “Season of the Bugs.” Throughout the season, Guardians manipulated the timeline and brought Saint-14 back from the dead, which Destiny 2 apparently couldn’t handle and was plagued by numerous bugs:
- First, the Exotic Wishender was unreasonably strong, which Bungie fixed, only for the Guardians to find an even bigger damage bug. Guardians played cat and mouse with the Destiny developers and often found bugs faster than Bungie could fix them.
- 2 Exotics didn’t work properly, so they were disabled, fixed, and released back to players. It quickly became evident that the two Exotics were still broken. There followed the re-deactivation of the Exotics in Season 9.
- A mod then caused players to charge their super in one second. Guardians took it too far, and Bungie disabled the super mod.
- But in Season 9, you didn’t need a mod for unlimited supers: New glitch caused infinite supers – players celebrate Season of Bugs
Infinite supers due to glitches pop up every now and then, even in summer 2021: New glitch in Destiny 2 is so strong that one class loses a skill
9. Coin toss makes players invulnerable ghosts
This is what makes the glitch special: Almost like the famous God mode that makes you invulnerable through cheats, the next glitch appears: With the help of a simple emote, Guardians could move through the game’s toughest content without being shot at even once.
It was enough to perform the “coin toss” emote in front of a loading zone and then follow it up with another emote upon entering the new area. You could safely solo complete dungeons and grab rare cosmetics. The glitch quickly spread, and many difficult activities were decided by a coin toss.
Bungie responded quickly, and as you can guess: The “coin toss” emote was disabled.
10. All Raid Boss Melts
The last entry goes to all the raid glitches and bugs that simply make the strong enemies melt without having to play complex mechanics. Destiny 2 is full of them, and every raid boss had to succumb to bugs.
The latest example is the Templar from the Glass Chamber: through an old (and bugged) Exotic, the boss dies so quickly that the streamer recording it couldn’t believe it:
The fight against the raid boss Riven has even been basically cheesed since 2018. Even the head at Bungie does not know if bosses should die that quickly.
But not only defective exotics end the existence of raid bosses in seconds. The nasty Stasis powers don’t care about boss immunity phases nor do they pulverize them. The biggest Destiny streamer Gladd has nothing else to say but “Waaaaass?”:
What bug or glitch do you remember well? Is there an important entry missing from the list – let us know in the comments. When do you think Telesto will break Destiny 2 again? It’s only a matter of time until the curse returns.
Not bugged, but surprisingly clever are these weapons: 6 exotics in Destiny 2 that have their own consciousness – Do you know them?
