Conan Exiles has released a new DLC that is not among the planned DLCs for 2019. This one explicitly celebrates the Conan films featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger for the first anniversary.
Why is there this DLC? In a press release, the CEO of Funcom, Rui Casais, explained that the new DLC for Conan Exiles will specifically include content inspired by the “Conan the Barbarian” films with Arnold Schwarzenegger from the 1980s.
The reason is that, while Conan Exiles is based on the works of Robert E. Howard, books, and subsequently comics, the Conan universe was able to reach many people primarily through the films.
Many of today’s Conan fans might never have heard of Howard’s work if it hadn’t been for Schwarzenegger’s breakthrough in the role of Conan the Barbarian. Therefore, we thought it would be a good idea to link the first anniversary of our best-selling game with a tribute to Schwarzenegger, “Thulsa Doom” actor James Earl Jones, and others.

Along with the DLC, a birthday event with new dungeons and even more features is also starting exactly one year after the official release of Conan Exiles.
The new Arnie DLC “Riddle of Steel”
This is included in the DLC: As with each of the previously released DLCs, the new DLC “Riddle of Steel” contains purely cosmetic content. This includes:
- 18 statues and figures of Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan
- 5 iconic helmets from the films of characters like Thulsa Doom and Rexor
- 5 unique, placeable items like Conan’s throne
- 6 statues and figures of Valeria
- 6 statues and figures of Subotai, the Hyrkanian archer
- 3 decorative war paints from the film
The name of the DLC is a reference to the Conan film. The “Riddle of Steel” is important for Conan the Barbarian to stand well before his god Crom.
When will the DLC be released? “Riddle of Steel” has been released today, on May 9, 2019, and is available for purchase immediately.
How much does the DLC cost? You can purchase the DLC for €6.99 on Steam. This makes it €3 cheaper than the DLCs usually cost. However, it is also not included in the season pass that covers the other DLCs from 2019.
