The Beyond patch brought many innovations to the space game No Man’s Sky. Players are particularly excited about one and are eagerly sharing their screenshots on reddit.
What innovation do players like so much? Beyond was released on August 14, bringing the game many innovations around VR, graphics, and multiplayer.
But the secret highlight is the change to the chairs that players can now sit on since the patch. These chairs have been present in the space stations since the game’s release, but only now can they be used meaningfully.

Even the NPCs use the chairs
What is special about the chairs? In fact, the chairs in No Man’s Sky work like in any other game. Players can use them to sit down.
But the NPCs also independently use the chairs, sitting down and getting up at their own discretion. A section in the patch notes for Beyond particularly amused players:
- Geks occasionally swing their legs when sitting.
Immediately, videos, screenshots, and memes were created about this innovation.

Some crazy fans, of which No Man’s Sky has many, decided to return to the space game solely because of this feature.
As user TheGorondorf writes on Twitter:
I’m giving No Man’s Sky a second chance just because you can now sit on chairs (and I hope there are a large number of chairs, otherwise I would be very disappointed).
Bugs also cause amusement
Is everything running smoothly with the chairs? The release of Beyond was very chaotic and not everything with the chairs is going as planned. In the many galaxies, there are hundreds of chairs, and some lead to funny bugs.
User therealtokyr shares an image titled “3 Guys, 1 Chair” on reddit. Only upon closer inspection does one realize he is not alone in his seat.

Other users, on the other hand, completely sink into the model of the chairs or spin continuously while sitting. Thus, bug fixes are still needed.
Some fans are already demanding the next big feature: Sitting on stools. Let’s see if this innovation makes it into the space game.
What is your favorite feature from the new patch? Perhaps riding and milking the animals?
