A small change is currently making Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 a completely different experience for solo players.
With the update on 23.10., Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 received, alongside an improvement in network performance and numerous fixes, a new playlist for multiplayer. The Mercenary Capture Moshpit has been active in this playlist since then. This playlist is so well-received by solo players that many fans are now demanding a permanent retention of the feature.
Players demand: Mercenary Capture Moshpit should stay permanently in Black Ops 4
What is the Mercenary Capture Moshpit? It is a temporary featured playlist in the traditional multiplayer of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The playlist includes various game modes and rotates these between matches. Included are the modes
- Domination
- Hardpoint
- Control
The games are played in a 5vs5 format.

What makes this playlist so special in Black Ops 4? Aside from the predefined modes, this list essentially has just a small peculiarity, but it is significant. In this Mercenary playlist, no groups are allowed. This means that as a player, you encounter only other solo players, not teams of players.
How are the fans reacting? The fans, especially the solo players, love this new featured playlist. The numerous posts and comments on Reddit leave no doubt about that. Almost everyone agrees: this small change is a huge step for solo players and makes the multiplayer experience a completely different one for them.
Previously, players were often sent into battle as random squads against fixed teams and were correspondingly torn apart, but now as a lone wolf, you have much better chances of succeeding against opponents. Both teams consist of randoms, meaning randomly assembled players.

Spawn camping, which allows well-coordinated teams to dominate entire matches, has significantly decreased. Additionally, players are not constantly torn apart by the scorestreaks of an overly dominant enemy team. Matches are now significantly more balanced. Overall, the fun factor has increased enormously.
Many players are therefore demanding that the Mercenary playlist be permanently integrated into the game and provide an additional option to the core and hardcore modes. This way, the most important pillars of individual player preferences would be quickly established. Players could choose whether they want the normal or hardcore experience and whether they want to compete against teams or other solo players. Thus, every interest group would quickly get what they want.
