How strong is Kyogre? The legendary Pokémon is by far the best Water attacker in the game. It is so good that no one will surpass Kyogre even in the following generations. You will benefit from the Water Pokémon for a very long time.
What do you need Kyogre for? The Water type is repeatedly important in battles. For example, Kyogre is the top counter against Groudon, which is returning after Kyogre.
Otherwise, Kyogre is also effective against the types Fire, Ground, and Rock. This means that you will also need Kyogre for the Entei raids in July, if you want to complete the global challenge there.
Kyogre has another advantage: The legendary Pokémon can also be found as shiny. The chance is about 1 in 19, so you have quite good odds of getting a shiny.
This problem exists with Kyogre: Many players are not particularly fond of Kyogre. After all, the legendary Pokémon is now finding its 5th time in raids. For many players, that is simply too much.
However, considering Kyogre’s usability, one should be happy about every Kyogre raid.
