The new MMORPG Swords of Legends Online is launching with 6 classes here in the West. We at MeinMMO share details about the last of the classes: the Spear Master. This class is especially useful for groups. Accordingly, we have again received exclusive gameplay.
What can the class do? The Spear Master is a melee fighter and uses a spear that allows for lightning-fast attacks while also being able to defend effectively. This is reflected in his two skill paths, which can be freely switched between outside of combat:
- As a General, you assume the role of a DPS class. As a Spear Master, you can hurl enemies into the air, making them incapacitated. Additionally, your attacks will generally become stronger and harder, leading to more damage.
- As a Phalanx, on the other hand, you become a Tank. You will receive a taunt and can summon a shield wall that protects you and your allies from incoming damage.
Why is the Spear Master so important for the group? Basically, the Spear Master can take on the role of a tank. This role is often too rare in MMORPGs. Additionally, he acts as a kind of engineer, from which the entire group benefits.
This way, the Spear Master can summon a construct where players can repair their broken equipment and sell unnecessary items. This keeps your inventory clean, which is especially important during longer dungeon and raid runs.

What lies behind the Spear Master: The founder of the Spear Master school was named Yuejiang. She believed that the chaos of the world is triggered and amplified by power struggles around her. She could not bear the suffering of ordinary people and therefore left the Hundergrass Valley to establish a utopia.
In her new kingdom, like-minded individuals gathered, whom she taught her martial arts. Due to her weapon, she was henceforth called Spear Master.
Swords of Legends makes a good impression during the first play
What kind of MMORPG is this? Swords of Legends is a theme park MMORPG from China that started in beta there in 2017 and was released in 2019. It places emphasis on a story and offers many PvE contents like quests, dungeons, and raids. It is set to be released in the West in summer 2021.
I personally have already played Swords of Legends Online in Taiwanese and was particularly impressed by the gameplay and graphics. A small highlight is also that you can fly while standing on a sword through the world.
