Today, The Division 2 is set to be as exciting as it hasn’t been in a long time. The developers are finally going to talk about a new feature that many agents place their last hopes on.
This is happening today in The Division 2: In the afternoon of September 2nd, the developers from Massive will hold the so-called State of the Game (SotG) starting at 5:00 PM. This is (actually) a weekly developer blog that is broadcast in the form of a live stream.
There, the developers often address important topics and urgent issues of The Division 2 and explain how the game will progress and what is planned for the near future.
However, even though the State of the Game has not been particularly exciting in recent weeks – many players are looking forward to today with anticipation.
What is so special about this week’s SotG stream? Because today, on September 2nd, Massive wants to talk about a feature on which many players are depending for the immediate future of The Division 2.
It’s about a new endless mode, from which many finally expect more replayability and long-term motivation for The Division 2. These are 2 points that players currently miss most in the game – aside from resolving numerous deep-seated issues like those with loot.
Especially veterans and many long-time players lack substantial content that can keep them engaged long-term – despite Seasons. And the endless mode is currently the only real content that is visible for the foreseeable future. Thus, many players are placing their last hopes in this new feature. Because even the new raid Operation: Stahlross could not bring any relief.
You can watch the whole thing here (from 5:00 PM):
What exactly is the endless mode “Skyscraper” about? Recently it was said that the mode was at the beginning of its development, now it is supposed to come into the game with Title Update 11 – presumably still in September.
However, not much is known about the upcoming mode. The community refers to it as Skyscraper Mode, since it apparently takes place in a skyscraper where players are presumably fighting their way upwards. Gameplay-wise, Skyscraper is supposed to remind players of the popular endless mode Underground from the first part, and it is hoped that it will bring just as much fun and variety to the game as Underground once did.
Also set to come into the game with TU11 – The Transmog System: The Division 2 will soon receive a Transmog system – Here’s what it can do, here’s how it works
Here’s how things are currently looking for The Division 2: The mood surrounding The Division 2 is currently noticeably low for many. While the game offers new agents plenty of hours of good entertainment, the endgame looks very different for more passionate players.
There, several deep-seated problems of the game become apparent – including issues with loot, skills or balance. Moreover, there are hardly any activities that invite players to continue playing long-term and are really fun. And this is exactly where people hope for changes from Title Update 11, particularly for the Skyscraper mode.
And many opportunities to turn things around are not expected to remain for The Division 2. Because it feels like more and more players are losing interest in Massive’s shooter, which actually holds enormous potential. What about you? Is the Skyscraper mode also crucial for you? Will you remain loyal to the game, or have you already jumped ship?
