In Pokémon GO, a new season has started, including a trailer. In it, a green energy beam is currently causing excitement.
What’s going on in Pokémon GO? In Pokémon GO, the new season “Hidden Gems” began on June 1, 2023. It comes with various spawns, raid bosses, and events – and one of these events is the GO Fest 2023 in summer.
This GO Fest is already teased in the new trailer for the current season. And even though there is still a lack of precise information: One particular detail caught trainers’ attention.
If you check out the trailer at minute 00:51, you will briefly see a green energy beam being shot from a tower into the sky, just after the mention of the GO Fest:
For many trainers, this is a clear hint at one of the most anticipated Pokémon in the game: Mega Rayquaza. It has long been one of the most popular monsters in the Pokémon community and would also be one of the absolutely best attackers in Pokémon GO.
What does Mega Rayquaza have to do with the energy beam?
Here’s the hint: Not only the green color of the energy beam but especially the comparison to an epic scene from the games “Omega Ruby” and “Alpha Sapphire” is currently leading trainers to speculate that Mega Rayquaza’s debut in Pokémon GO is imminent.
A corresponding comparison image was posted by user “Dark_Lord_Cthu1u” in the Pokémon GO subreddit:
More and more trainers are now speaking up on social media, convinced that this is a hint at Mega Rayquaza.
The scene with the energy beam in Alpha Sapphire / Omega Ruby shows exactly that: Rayquaza lifts off within the beam towards the sky and transforms into its Mega variant upon entering space.
The signs are intensifying: In fact, the energy beam is just the next hint regarding Mega Rayquaza, as the arrival of Proto Kyogre and Groudon has already been seen as a step towards its debut. In the lore of the main games, these are indeed the two major adversaries of Rayquaza, which could only be contained with the help of Mega Evolution.
Moreover, a small dialogue snippet from Professor during the GO Tour: Hoenn hinted at Mega Rayquaza, but it was quickly changed.
Now the assumption is that Mega Rayquaza might become the big monster at GO Fest 2023. Officially, however, nothing is known in this regard yet. So it’s a matter of waiting.
