We already know a reward for the next addon of World of Warcraft. The announcement should follow soon.
Even though the current expansion of World of Warcraft, Dragonflight, is still in full swing and the next patch will be released in just a few days, many are already thinking about the upcoming addon.
Now, initial hints have been discovered in the game data, even though they mostly deal with the “surroundings”. It is clear that Blizzard already has plans to release three different versions of the expansion, which will come with different bonuses.
What has been discovered? The data miners from wowhead have already found 3 “hidden” achievements in the game data. They have suspicious names and refer to a “Base”, “Heroic”, and “Epic” edition – just like we have seen in previous expansions.
The achievements indicate that when purchasing the respective version, there are additional vendor currencies (“Tender”):
- Base: 500 vendor currencies
- Heroic: 750 vendor currencies
- Epic: 1,000 vendor currencies
Vendor currencies can be exchanged at the trading post for transmog items and other cosmetic rewards.

When will the addon be announced? Although Blizzard has not yet announced a date for the reveal, everything indicates that the next expansion of World of Warcraft will be presented at BlizzCon 2023. This will take place in about 2 months, as BlizzCon is on November 3 and 4. It also suggests that Warcraft legend Chris Metzen seems to have his hands in the next expansion and will likely talk about it during BlizzCon.
The fact that these achievements appear in the game data of patch 10.1.7 Incarnation of Wrath is also a clear hint. This could mean that the next expansion can already be pre-purchased during patch 10.1.7 – and that would likely be around BlizzCon. Even if the release is expected no earlier than late 2024.
