In Pokémon GO there is a change to a feature. And this makes playing with your friends really worthwhile.
What is this feature? The feature that received a strong change is Party Play. This is a function where you can play together with your friends and not only gain a bonus during raids but also complete challenges together.
Now there is a change where you and your friends can benefit from using items together. And that can be really rewarding.
One item, up to 4 beneficiaries
What is this change? The change involves sharing items so that the whole group can benefit. Throughout the year, there has been already a finding that hinted at this improvement.
As trainers report on Reddit, the new feature in Party Play is now live for the first trainers.
We are embedding the post from Reddit here for you:
How does this work? As shown in the post, you can now share the items incense, lucky egg, and star piece within your group. This ensures that all members of the group can benefit from the item.
The duration of the items is halved compared to individual use, but applied to the entire group. So if you use an incense for your group, then the effect of the item lasts only 30 minutes instead of 60 minutes. However, the effect becomes usable for your entire group.
If you are in a group of 4 players and each of you uses an incense, then the entire group can benefit from the effect for a total of 2 hours, even though each individual trainer only used one incense. Thus, the effective duration doubles if all trainers use the item.
The effect really pays off only with at least 3 players in a group. With 4 players, you maximize the effect.
For the lucky egg and star piece, the duration per activated item is also halved, resulting in 15 instead of 30 minutes.
What is this useful for? This new function is especially useful to effectively use your items in groups and benefit more from their use.
Additionally, your friends who are in a group with you can benefit from your effect when you activate the items only for a short period and for a specific purpose. For example, when you use a lucky egg to increase experience points through a new friend level.
Also, during events like the Community Day, the new function can be very helpful. For these events, the effect duration of incense is usually 3 hours. If the halved duration applies here as well, then an activated incense in the group provides 1.5 hours of incense for all group members during such events.
What do you think of the new change? Have you maybe already benefited from it yourself? Where will you use it? Let us know in the comments. If you want to know which events await you in August 2024 in Pokémon GO, we have the right overview ready for you.
