On September 16th, the new Set 4 started in Teamfight Tactics. We will tell you what has changed and which champion combos are the strongest right from the start.
Update October 30th: About 6 weeks have passed and there have been some updates. You can find the currently best comps for Patch 10.22 in this guide.
What are the biggest changes in Set 4? With the new set came a completely new set of champions to the game. You will need to learn all builds from scratch. To provide you with an overview of the champions and items, we have assembled the most important cheat sheets.
Also new in Set 4:
- You can have a Chosen One. This is a champion that appears at level 2 instantly and occupies one trait twice. It also has stronger traits. You can sell your Chosen One at any time to select a new one.
- The costs for level-ups have been significantly increased in the late game.
- Overall, attack damage is currently stronger than magic damage.
The selected comps consist of a mix of personal experience, watched livestreams, and the meta sheet that was shared on reddit. Enjoy!

Brawlers, Hunters, Moonlight, Aphelios as Carry
Which Chosen One does the combo need? For this combo, it is essential that you have one of the two champions as a Chosen One with the Moonlight bonus:
- Aphelios – Moonlight/Hunter
- Sylas – Moonlight/Brawler
After that, you bring both champions to level 3, so that Aphelios can rise to level 4 through the Moonlight bonus. The champion that carries the most items at the same level will always ascend.
Which champions are otherwise used? In addition to the two champions above, the combo relies on:
- Warwick – Divine/Brawler/Hunter
- Ashe – Woodlands/Hunter
- Maokai – Woodlands/Brawler
- Nunu – Woodlands/Brawler
- Vi – Warlord/Brawler
- Tham Kench – Lucky Brawler – Replaced in the late game by Sett – The Boss/Brawler
These attributes are utilized by the combo:
- 6 Brawlers
- 3 Hunters
- 3 Woodlands
- 3 Moonlight
- 1 The Boss
Which items does the combo need? For the combo, it is important that Aphelios takes over as the carry and has attack speed. Additionally, his towers continue to shoot while he is down due to Guardian Angel. A tank is also important:
- Aphelios – Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Guardian Angel, Bloodthirster
- Sett – Titan’s Resolve, Gargoyle Stoneplate
- Ashe or Warwick – Second carry with DMG or attack speed items
How does the early game go? In the early game, you start with the two brawlers Tham Kench and Maokai. Generally, you should find Sylas and Vi quite quickly to have a solid frontline.
Behind them, you play with hunters. Temporarily, Kindred can also serve as a replacement for Ashe. Kindred is also a good alternative if you plan to level to 9 to enhance the hunter bonus.
What is the gold plan? You quickly collect 50 gold and look for Sylas and Aphelios at level 5 and 6. You should definitely not level up quickly. It is more important to get your champions to level 3. A good alternative is also to have a losing streak at the beginning to get the right items and collect a lot of gold. With the brawlers, you shouldn’t lose too many health points.
Dusk, Mystics, Riven as Carry
Which Chosen One does the combo need? To play this combo, you need one of the 5 champions with the attribute Dusk as a bonus, preferably Riven:
- Vayne – Dusk/Sniper
- Thresh – Dusk/Frontliner
- Riven – Dusk/Guardian
- Cassiopeia – Dusk/Mystic
Which champions are otherwise used?
- Shen – Ninja/Adept/Mystic
- Irelia – Enlightened/Divine/Adept
- Aatrox – Cultist/Frontliner
These attributes are utilized by the combo:
- 6 Dusk
- 2 Adept
- 2 Mystics
- 2 Frontliners
- 1 Ninja
Which items does the combo need? The combo values Riven as the carry:
- Riven – Rabadon’s Deathcap, Guardian Angel, situational Mercury, Dragonclaw, or Sunfire Cape
- Lilia – Spear of Shojin
- Irelia or Cassiopeia with further items to strengthen
How does the early game go? This combo shines in the late game. At the start, you collect Vayne and should play a different build, for example, a mage with a tank Annie, cultists, or duelists + frontliner.
What is the gold plan? Your priority is to get to 50 gold and quickly reach level 8 to have a high chance of finding the 4-gold champions and Lilia.
Enlightened, Mystics, Talon as Carry
Which Chosen One does the combo need? This combo does not require a Chosen One; every champion is useful, with Talon providing the most benefit.
Which champions are used?
- Irelia – Enlightened/Divine/Adept
- Janna – Enlightened/Mystic
- Morgana – Enlightened/Illusionist
- Talon – Enlightened/Assassin
- Lux – Divine/Illusionist
- Shen – Ninja/Adept/Mystic
- Pyke – Cultist/Assassin
These attributes are utilized by the combo:
- 4 Enlightened
- 2 Divine
- 2 Adept
- 2 Assassins
- 2 Illusionists
- 2 Mystics
- 1 Ninja
Which items does the combo need? The combo values Talon as the carry, who receives ample damage items. Additionally, Shen serves as a tank in the frontline:
- Talon – Hand of Justice, Giant Slayer, Infinity Edge
- Shen – Gargoyle Stoneplate, situational Dragonclaw, Mercury, Thornmail
- Pyke – Spear of Shojin
How does the early game go? This combo is also constructed more in the mid to late game. At the beginning, you can play mages with a tank Annie, cultists, or duelists + frontliner.
A significant advantage, however, is that you are already finished with 7 characters.
What is the gold plan? You collect 50 gold and level up to level 7 promptly. There, you gather all the important champions.
