Today, on March 18th, Teamfight Tactics launched into Set 3. To help you get started and keep track, we have picked out two strong champion combos that will help you win your first games.
What are these builds? The two selected champion combos were among the most successful builds in TFT on the test server from the new Set 3. They were also not significantly changed shortly before release.
They consist of:
- Mech, Sorcerer
- Brawlers, Blasters
The combos are based on personal experiences, Reddit threads, and a video from YouTuber JinxedJK, who has also created good guides for Teamfight Tactics in the past.
What other tips do we have? To get a good start in the new Set 3, we have again compiled current cheat sheets for you.
There you will find the new champions, origins, and classes in overview, as well as the current items you can craft.
Combo 1: Mech, Sorcerer
Which champions does the combo use? The first combo we can recommend focuses on the Mech pilots and combines them with the Sorcerers:
- Rumble – Mech/Demolitionist
- Fizz – Mech/Infiltrator
- Annie – Mech/Sorcerer
- Lux – Dark Star/Sorcerer
- Syndra – Star Guardian/Sorcerer
- Zoe – Star Guardian/Sorcerer
- Ahri – Star Guardian/Sorcerer
- Vel’koz – Void/Sorcerer (initially Twisted Fate, later Vel’koz)

These attributes are used by the combo:
- 3x Mech Pilots (At the start of battle, they turn into a Super-Mech)
- 6x Sorcerer (+45% increased spell damage)
- 3x Star Guardian (they give each other mana)
What items does the combo need? The combo relies on making Rumble your carry because he deals a lot of AoE damage:
- Rumble: Guardian Angel, Jewel Collector Gloves, Warmogs or Quicksilver
- Items on Syndra, Ahri, and Vel’Koz: Rabadon’s Deathcap, Guardian Angel,
- Depending on items, further defense for Mech Pilots
How does the early game go? In the early game, you should already look for the cheap Sorcerers Twisted Fate, Zoe, Ahri, and especially Annie. Annie is the reason this combo works well, as she has both attributes.
If you find Twisted Fate and Zoe early and even get them to level 2, a level up to level 5 is important to find the first 3-gold Sorcerers and Rumble.
In the early and mid-game, various champions also help you survive the tough phase until you get the three Mech Pilots:
- Shen, who is tanky and generates the Chrono buff with Twisted Fate.
- 2 Brawlers to tank.
Are there alternative builds? Alternatively, you can play directly with 6 Sorcerers, 3 Star Guardians, and 1 Starship, foregoing the Mech Pilots. This build looks like this:
- Annie – Mech/Sorcerer
- Lux – Dark Star/Sorcerer
- Twisted Fate – Chrono/Sorcerer
- Zoe – Star Guardian/Sorcerer
- Syndra – Star Guardian/Sorcerer
- Ahri – Star Guardian/Sorcerer
- Aurelion Sol – Rebel/Starship/
- Miss Fortune – Valkyrie/Mercenary/Blaster
This is likely the current strongest build in the game, but it relies on two 5-gold champions and is therefore hard to obtain.
Combo 2: Brawlers, Blasters
Which champions does the combo use? The combo is very classic: Tanks in the front, ranged fighters in the back. The following champions are used:
- Cho’Gath – Void/Brawler
- Vi – Cybernetic/Brawler
- Malphite – Rebel/Brawler
- Blitzcrank – Chrono/Brawler
- Jinx – Rebel/Blaster
- Lucian – Cybernetic/Blaster
- Ezreal – Chrono/Blaster
- Miss Fortune – Valkyrie/Mercenary/Blaster
- Optional: Eco – Cybernetic/Infiltrator

These attributes are used by the combo:
- 4x Blaster
- 4x Brawler
- 2x Chrono
- 1x Mercenary
- Optional: 3x Cybernetic
What items does the combo need? There are no items that are strictly necessary for this combo. However, Cho’Gath takes on the role of the tough tank, while Jinx is the carry:
- Cho’Gath – Warmogs, Guardian Angel, Frozen Heart
- Jinx – Infinity Edge, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Ionic Spark
- Miss Fortune – Ludens Echo
- Optional: Vi or Blitzcrank – Zephyr
How does the early game go? In the early game, focus on the two Brawlers Malphite and Blitzcrank along with Shen at the front and Graves and Lucian as Blasters behind. This will help you get your first combos, which can then be perfectly complemented with 3-gold Ezreal.
The setup is relatively clear and straightforward.
Are there alternative builds? An alternative is a build of 6 Rebels and 4 Blasters. For this, you will need:
- Malphite – Rebel/Brawler
- Ziggs – Rebel/
- Sona – Rebel/
- Yasuo – Rebel/
- Aurelion Sol – Rebel/Starship
- Jinx – Rebel/Blaster
- Lucian – Cybernetic/Blaster
- Ezreal – Chrono/Blaster
- Miss Fortune – Valkyrie/Mercenary/Blaster
The combo relies on many 5-star champions and a total of 9 characters. Therefore, you need to be very far into the late game.
