In this video, a group of four players introduces us to the first three instantiated dungeons in The Elder Scrolls Online. You can get a good idea of what to expect soon, although the difficulty level is of course not comparable to the dungeons from the endgame – the spectacle seen here is tailored for players between level 12 and 15. Rather a gentle introduction to group content than a challenge.
By the way, members of the famous TESO fansite “Tamriel Foundry” are part of the group, who have received the green light from Bethesda for the release of the gameplay video, as the NDA is still in place. Speaking of members: the group consists of a sorcerer who acts as a healer, a templar, and a nightblade who causes chaos as damage dealers, and last but not least, the dragonknight takes care of tanking to keep the nasty creatures away from his teammates.
Positive Feedback has been received, by the way:
- The dungeons are very beautifully designed and invite exploration. Typical for the Elder Scrolls saga, the trip is of course connected with a larger storyline that, according to Tamriel Foundry, has been very well integrated into the gameplay. At level 50, you will be able to re-enter the dungeons, of course with an adjusted difficulty level. It is also worth mentioning that the story will then continue.
- In addition to some typical “tank and spank” bosses, players can especially look forward to unique opponents equipped with challenging mechanics that add tactical depth to the combat. Overall, the tester praises the abilities and visual effects of the bosses.
- The rewards are substantial: instanced dungeons provide a variety of experience points, gear upgrades, and even skill points!
However, not everything that glitters is gold. There were also negative remarks in the post:
- The length of the dungeons did not satisfy the tester – with only 15-20 minutes, the fun is too short in his opinion, at least at this level. He notes that 30-45 minutes would be more appropriate, and the instances could also handle more trash mobs, as there were hardly any – on the other hand, this is clearly a matter of taste. He found the number of bosses to be good.
- The bosses currently seem to have far too few hit points. Before the fight could even become interesting, the opponent was already dead.
What do you think of the boss fights? Does the gameplay video make you want more?
