In Destiny 2 a new and rather bizarre “tentacle cannon” is currently gaining attention as the best legendary rapid-fire weapon in its class. Two streamers have tested it extensively and found that it is fun and also brings surprisingly strong characteristics. MeinMMO introduces it to you in more detail and advises which rolls you should craft now.
Which weapon is currently exciting players in Destiny 2? Initially, it was just the unusual tentacle-look of the bizarre pistol “Mykels Ehrfurcht,” which, like all the raid gear, caused astonished glances. One would not have thought that it could even keep up with the other primary weapon options and therefore assigned it hardly any priority.
However, after the first weapon tests in PvE and PvP, it became clear that this pistol is not only visually special. The new legendary weapon already made the eyes of two well-known Destiny 2 content creators shine brightly, and particularly True Vanguard raved.
- True Vanguard judges in his video that the 450-string gun is currently “the best rapid-fire housing pistol that Destiny 2 has ever had.”
- ZK Mushroom, an experienced PvP player, also did not expect how much fun he would have with this pistol in the Crucible. Even if its original property is hardly beneficial there.
Good enough reason to recommend this gun to you and showcase its advantages. All you need for the perfect PvP and PvE version of this gun is its blueprint, as it is craftable.
Once unpopular, now best-in-slot: It wasn’t long ago that pistols in Destiny 2 were not popular among players at all. However, this has changed more and more, and in Season 19, some pistols suddenly became very sought after.
The reasons for this are clear:
- The small but fine killers often have a forgiving recoil pattern and deliver solid damage output.
- With the introduction of the toggleable full-auto through the Destiny 2 settings, pistols were also boosted.
- Additionally, Bungie granted some pistols strong perks in the Witch Queen year, such as “Volt Shot” on “Law of the Thief” or “Desperado” on “Watch of the Threshold.”
“Mykels Ehrfurcht” has also benefited from this. And from the fact that under its “hood” lies an old gem – the Seventh Seraph SI-2 from Season 10.
Mykels Ehrfurcht is the best rapid-fire pistol in Season 20
What makes the weapon so special? “Mykels Ehrfurcht” has unique advantages as a string pistol in the kinetic slot that perfectly fit the new subclass from Lightfall. The perk “Slippery” strengthens the strand-weaver Warlock. But the other two classes, Titan and Hunter, can also benefit from it.
Element: Strand (kinetic slot)
Frame: Rapid-fire housing, thus fully automatic
Original property: Equipping multiple weapons from this set grants this weapon increased reload speed and improved handling. Additionally, it deals increased damage against tormentors, radiant hordes, and guardians using their supers.
True Vanguard also highlights the high base stability of this pistol, which no other weapon can offer you. Both “Fiorituria-59” and “Feierabend” and “Law of the Thief” have only a base stability of 63. “Mykels Ehrfurcht” has 67.
In addition, there are more best-in-class values of the weapon:
- “Mykels Ehrfurcht” has the best aim assist value of her class with 61.
- The recoil direction of 96 is also top in its archetype.
- The only rapid-fire weapon that ever had better recoil was the pistol “Dead Man Walking” from the Black Armory DLC.
- Even in terms of reload speed with 47, it is far ahead of other pistols.
How good that is, True Vanguard shows in his video:
With these characteristics and perks, you can get the most out of it. Ideally crafted with the improved perks through the enclave on Mars, which grant you further benefits.
“Mykels Ehrfurcht”-Godroll for PvE:
- Barrel: Hammerforged Rifling
- Magazine: Extended Mag or Alloy Magazine
- Perk Advantage 1: “Rampage”
- Perk Advantage 2: “Frenzy” or “Slippery,” if you are playing a strand build
- Optional: If you prefer, also “Elemental Capacitor” or “Rampage”
- Masterwork: Reload Speed
“Mykels Ehrfurcht”-Godroll for PvP:
- Barrel: Hammerforged Rifling
- Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
- Perk Advantage 1: “Subsistence”
- Perk Advantage 2: “Frenzy,” “Tap the Trigger” or “Slippery,” if you are playing a strand build
- Masterwork: Range
So you get the blueprint for the weapon: First of all, you need to earn the weapon once in the new raid “Root of Nightmares”. It drops for you both in the second encounter “Splitting” and in the third encounter “Macrocosmos.
Once the weapon has been first unlocked in your collection, it can also drop from the two hidden chests in the raid “Root of Nightmares.” Additionally, you have the option to interact with the Scythe of the final boss Nezarek at the end of the raid and focus the weapon through the conquest loot, which you also obtain from runs out of the raids.
If you have received 5 Depth weapon versions with a red frame, you can shape it according to your ideas in the Enclave on Mars. To speed up that, the raid offers a guaranteed Depth weapon once a week.
While most pistols in Destiny 2 are often ridiculed, “Mykels Ehrfurcht” comes around and gets the job done. This is fun in PvE already, but even more so in PvP, as you always have maximum stability for the duration of every fight.
