The release of Temtem is getting closer. The new trailer introduces your starters – and it strongly reminds of the great model Pokémon.
Update January 27: We have now created a guide in which we introduce you to the starter Temtems and reveal which one is the strongest.
This is Temtem: Temtem is an MMO that not only strongly resembles Pokémon. The big Nintendo series is also explicitly and officially mentioned as an important inspiration – and you can clearly see it.
You have to catch, evolve, and battle monsters on different islands. There are tournaments, trading, and a large campaign. The special thing: You can experience it all online with many other players.
After successful Kickstarter campaign the release is now getting closer. Of course, Temtem also sets itself apart from Pokémon in some places – especially through the online aspect. However, the new trailer clearly shows how closely Temtem aligns with the Pokémon idea.
Temtem shows its versions of Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur
This is shown in the trailer: The latest trailer for Temtem introduces the three starter Temtem. Yes, that’s right: You also have to choose one of three Temtem in Temtem to start your journey through the archipelago.
The parallel to the classic Pokémon start is of course noticeable. However, in Temtem you don’t have the choice between Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. In Temtem you choose between:
- The crystal monster “Crystle”
- The monkey-like “Smazee”
- A fairy-like monster named “Houchic”
All three Temtems have their own types and abilities that set them apart from each other. Temtem also relies on a combat system in which different types of monsters are particularly effective against certain other monsters. So you have to choose wisely.
When is Temtem coming out? If you are eager for the Pokémon-like MMO, you won’t have to wait too long. The Temtem release is announced as an Early Access for January 2020 – at least for PC players.
When the release for the consoles PS4, Switch, and Xbox One will come is still open.
