Under the name “Project X”, the 1000-player game from Automaton has been presented so far. Now the game, which also offers a 400-player Battle Royale mode, has revealed its official name: Mavericks: Proving Grounds.
Mavericks: Proving Grounds Teaser
In a teaser video, the developers want to convey the first impressions of the atmosphere of Mavericks: Proving Grounds. Driven by MMO wonder technology SpatialOS, a unique gaming experience is expected to unfold.
The teaser was presented at the PC Gamer Weekender. Unfortunately, we still have to wait for images of weapon gameplay. At least the video shows how beautiful the environment and the weather look.
Release of Mavericks Proving Grounds as Battle Royale XXL still in 2018
As the developers of Mavericks revealed, the Last Person Standing mode is expected to be released in 2018.
Up to 400 players will then fight each other in a match on a large map. There, as seen in the trailer, you will encounter a vibrant environment. This includes an active wildlife, dynamic water, and other realistic features. In 2019, the open MMO world is expected to follow.
Also planned is a social hub called The Capital. In this city, players can trade, register clans, and track ranks and achievements.
