On the test server, you can already try out Set 2 of Teamfight Tactics. The Twitch streamer DisguisedToast is also playing there. He has found a brilliant combo with the champion Zed.
What happens in the combo? The champion Zed will receive a major overhaul in Set 2. His cost will now be 5 gold and he has a new ability: with this, he summons his shadow, which uses the same items and attributes.
In his combo, DisguisedToast lets the champion summon an extreme number of clones of himself. In the end, Zed stands on the field 24 times. This makes it easy for the Twitch streamer to eliminate his opponent.
DisguisedToast is a well-known Hearthstone streamer who was already known in Blizzard’s card game for finding such “broken combos” and gleefully enjoying it when he found such synergy.

How does this brilliant combo work? Zed is carrying the new item Mages Cap in the round, which turns him into a mage. Thus, he benefits from the effect of the class, which ensures that abilities are activated twice in a row.
Additionally, Zed carries the Spear of Shojin. This allows him to refill his mana extremely quickly. Since the clones can also use the ability and items, they clone themselves as well. This results in two dozen clones in one round.
Set 2 still in a test phase
Will this combo make it to the live servers? Currently, the developers at Riot Games are working to improve the second set for TFT. Some unintended interactions and combos are still being removed or weakened.
However, it is possible that Zed with endless clones could remain in the game. Because, to play this combo, you need a few prerequisites:
- The item Spatula
- The 5 gold champion Zed
- A total of 6 mages
- Zed must survive long enough.
Moreover, DisguisedToast did not manage to win with this combo. The new origin Poison stole Zed’s mana in the decisive fight and thus prevented the clones. So the combo can be countered.
What’s happening in Set 2? The new set, which is to be released on November 5, brings not only new champions and origins but also a revision of the game board.
Additionally, the first ranked season in TFT will end with the upcoming update. If you want to earn special rewards, you have little time left. Pay attention to the changes from patch 9.21, which was released last Tuesday night.
