In Teamfight Tactics is a combo currently very strong and popular. However, this great popularity also leads to a low win rate.
Which combo is it? The discussions on reddit and also in the forums have recently focused primarily on the combination of Void and Assassin.
This combo was very strong since the game’s release, but has been weakened and strengthened repeatedly over time. Currently it is so strong because:
- Void creatures deal True Damage
- Patch 9.18 adjusted the item distribution. Now you get spatulas more often and can create additional assassins.
- Patch 9.18 nerfed XP and thus combos with fewer champions become stronger.
- Patch 9.18 refined the timing of the assassins’ jumps.

What is the problem with the combo? Many players find it too strong because there is little they can do against the damage and especially the True Damage of the void creatures.

The combo is so good that it stands in its own way
Where do players see the problem with the data? The combination of void creatures and assassins is currently popular and that is why the chance of winning is so low:
- If too many players try to build the same combo, the number of these champions in the selection decreases.
- Players receive champions of level 3 less often, which is why the combo often loses against weaker ones in the end.
Another problem players see is the interaction with the combo. They currently compare it to the quest rogue problem from Hearthstone. If someone successfully builds the combo, you can basically give up and that destroys the fun factor.
How do you play the combo correctly? If you now want to try to win with assassins and void creatures, you should keep the following in mind at the beginning of each game:
- Collect a few void creatures, Zed, and Pyke.
- Try to lose in the early rounds to collect some gold through a losing streak.
- At stage 2-4 (round 7 in total), check how many players are collecting void creatures and assassins. If there are more than 2 others, change your strategy.
- If you haven’t collected a spatula from the carousel by stage 2-4, change your strategy.
If you now want to stick with the combo, make sure to get Kassadin to level 3 and equip him with Youmuu’s Ghostblade.
How long will this combo last? Patch 9.19 is scheduled to be released on September 25. There will be a new champion of the void origin in the game.
With this champion, the origin’s function will also change. In addition, the patch will again bring many balance changes, including a completely new base item.
