On the test servers, PVE, of League of Legends, much is being experimented with the new game mode, Teamfight Tactics. An item has now been revised that upgrades your champions by one level: Thus, 4-star heroes are possible.
Which item has been changed? The Guardian Angel item previously revived the bearer of the item with 500 health points. This effect has also been retained on the PBE, but it received an addition there.
In addition to resurrection, the champion wearing the Guardian Angel will also be upgraded by one level.
What new levels can now be reached? Previously, it was only possible to upgrade champions up to level 3. The reason for this is that you would need to have the same champion 27 times for a fourth level.
However, the revision of the Guardian Angel ensures that the bearer, if they are a level 3 champion, is now upgraded again.
The new effect, however, cannot be stacked. A champion of level 5 or 6 does not exist. Additional Guardian Angels will revive the champion again.
Extremely strong, but not invincible
How strong are champions at level 4? By increasing the level, champions receive additional health points and all their attributes are improved. This makes the champions stronger and allows them to live longer.
However, according to initial reports, they are not invincible. Beneficial for the units is the other effect of the Guardian Angel, the resurrection. Since they only return with 500 health points, they can quickly be taken out again.
What else is being experimented with on the test server? The PBE offers some innovations compared to the live version. For example, there is already the first new champion Twisted Fate.
In addition, you can also test the new ranked mode on the PBE. The focus is also on changes to the distribution of items. Some neutral enemies will always drop an item in the future, which should make distribution fairer.
When will the innovations come to the live server? A release of the innovations is planned for patch 9.14. This is expected to be released on Wednesday, July 17.
However, it may be that experiments like the innovations to the Guardian Angel may not make it to the live servers at all.
