In Teamfight Tactics you can play the new Set 2 for nearly 3 weeks now. In this guide, we would like to introduce you to 3 combos with which you can currently dominate matches.
What are these combos? In the weeks since the release of Set 2, it has become clear that combos with Predator, Ocean, and Mage champions are particularly effective. However, other combinations are also possible.
In this guide, we will present the following three combos in more detail:
- Predator, Poison, Berserker, Ice Being
- Ocean, Mage, Summoner, Inferno
- Blademaster, Assassin, Steel, Cloud, Mystic
The selected combos are based on personal experience, streamed content, and a tier list from reddit. The list refers to the balance state of patch 9.23.
Predator, Poison, Berserker, Ice Being
Which champions does the combo use? The combo relies primarily on 5 champions:
- Warwick – Ice Being/Predator
- Rek’Sai – Steel/Predator
- Kog’Maw – Poison/Predator
- Mundo – Poison/Berserker
- Singed – Poison/Alchemist or alternatively Twitch – Poison/Archer
This build is then complemented with Berserkers and Ice Beings to benefit from as many bonuses as possible:
- Volibear – Blitz/Ice Being/Berserker
- Braum – Ice Being/Guardian
- Olaf – Ice Being/Berserker

Another useful addition would be Ezreal as Ice Being/Archer. With the Frost Hammer, you can turn another champion into an Ice Being and achieve a high stun chance. Alternatively, Orn can be used as Blitz/Guardian to activate two additional bonuses.
These attributes are utilized by the combo:
- 3x Poison
- 3x Predator
- 1x Alchemist
- 3x Berserker
- 4x Ice Being
What items does the combo need? The combo does not require a spatula, which is a significant advantage. Useful items are primarily for Kog’Maw and Olaf, as both can determine a game on their own. For Kog’Maw, we choose items that can activate his Predator bonus:
- Kog’Maw – Luden’s Echo, Ionic Spark, Statikk’s Shiv, Guinsoo’s Rageblade
- Olaf – Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Bloodthirster, Infinity Edge
- Singed – Morellonomicon
- Tank items on Mundo or Singed, like Warmogs or Dragonclaw
How does the early game go? You should focus on getting the three Predators early, as two of them only cost 1 gold. This will allow you to win early on and earn good money. Here you can initially use Skarner instead of Rek’Sai.
It is important that you observe the other players. You want to get Kog’Maw to level 3 as soon as possible. However, if many players also go for a Predator combo at the beginning, you might consider changing your strategy.
Before you achieve the poison bonus with Twitch or Singed (4/5 Gold Champions), you can initially use Orn to activate the Guardian and Blitz bonuses with Braum and Volibear.
Are there alternatives? Those who remain primarily with Predators can also play alternative builds, including:
- 3 Predators, 3 Poison, 3 Blitz, 2 Ice Beings – with Zed and Orn.
- 3 Predators, 3 Poison, 2 Crystal with Skarner and Ashe.
- 3 Predators, 2 Steel, 2 Desert, 3 Assassins – with Nocturne, Qiyana, and Kha’Zix
Ocean, Mage, Summoner, Inferno
Which champions does the combo use? The combo relies primarily on 5 champions to receive the bonuses from Ocean and Mage:
- Nautilus – Ocean/Guardian
- Nami – Ocean/Mystic
- Syndra – Ocean/Mage
- Vladimir – Ocean/Mage
- Brand – Inferno/Mage
These will then be complemented by Summoners. Zyra is useful to additionally receive the Inferno bonus:
- Annie – Inferno/Summoner
- Zyra – Inferno/Summoner
- Yorick – Light/Summoner or alternatively Zed – Blitz/Summoner

These attributes are utilized by the combo:
- 4x Ocean
- 3x Mage
- 3x Inferno
- 3x Summoner
What items does the combo need? The combo values good items for Mages, especially for Brand. If you find good items for Zed, you can give them to him later. Alternatively, you can leave Yorick for Zed in the team:
- Brand – Morellonomicon, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Jeweled Gauntlet
- Zyra – Rapid-fire Cannon
- Zed – Phantom Dancer, Dragonclaw, Redemption
- Nautilus – Thief’s Gloves
How does the early game go? In the beginning, you should look to collect Syndra, Vladimir, and Zyra. You can create the first Mage combo with LeBlanc. In the frontline, you can rely on forest/druid characters like Maokai and Ivern.
In the mid game, you then rely on Nautilus and Thresh to have the 4 Ocean champions. Additionally, you should switch LeBlanc for Brand. You are also looking for Yorick and Annie to survive the mid game.
Are there alternatives? There are alternative builds, but they deviate somewhat and are also weaker than the displayed combo, including:
- 4 Ocean, 3 Mage, 4 Guardians, 2 Mystics, 2 Mountain with Thresh instead of Syndra, Taric, Janna, Malphite, and Taliyah.
- 2 Ocean, 3 Summoners, 3 Inferno, 2 Shadow, 2 Archers with Thresh and Nautilus, Yorick, Annie, and Malzahar, alongside Varus and Kindred.
Blademaster, Assassin, Steel, Cloud, Mystic
Which champions does the combo use? The last combo relies on 4 Blademasters and 3 Assassins, complemented by many additional bonuses:
- Yasuo – Cloud/Blademaster
- Master Yi – Shadow/Mystic/Blademaster
- Sivir – Desert/Blademaster
- Nocturne – Steel/Assassin + Blademaster via item
- Kha’Zix – Desert/Assassin
- Qiyana – Cloud/Assassin
The champions are complemented by:
- Rek’Sai – Steel/Predator
- Janna – Cloud/Mystic

These attributes are utilized by the combo:
- 4x Blademaster
- 3x Assassin
- 3x Cloud
- 2x Steel
- 2x Desert
- 2x Mystic
What items does the combo need? A spatula is absolutely necessary for this combo. It should be turned into a Blade of the Exiled King, which goes to Nocturne. Additionally, you use:
- Nocturne – Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Bloodthirster
- Sivir – Giant Slayer, Red Buff
- Rek’Sai – Warmog’s Armor, Dragonclaw
How does the early game go? In the beginning, it is advisable not to focus too much on the combo. Use forest/druid or Predator to survive the start. With the latter, you can already use Rek’Sai.
At level 6, you should then try to build the combo, especially if you already have the Blade of the Exiled King. A first combo could be:
- Rek’Sai
- Nocturne
- Yasuo
- Sivir
- Aatrox
- Qiyana and/or Kha’Zix
Are there alternatives? The build is relatively rigid, but you can create some different builds with Qiyana and her elemental in combination with Malphite or an Ocean champion.
