For Teamfight Tactics, the new update 9.16 is just around the corner. On Twitter, a brief overview was again provided about what will change with the patch – with such a kind of pre-patch notes, one already knows who will become stronger and who will become weaker. Highlight this time: Four new champions.
When will Patch 9.16 be released? The next major update for TFT, but also for League of Legends, will be released next Wednesday, August 14th, exactly one week after the last balance update.
The update offers several changes that will significantly impact the meta in Teamfight Tactics. We have compiled the biggest changes for you here.
1. The four new champions
What is the biggest change in Patch 9.16? The highlight of the patch is the four new champions that will come into play with the origin “Hextech”.
These are:
- Camille
- Jayce
- Vi
- and Jinx.
Which classes the four champions represent, how much gold they cost, and what abilities they have we have already revealed here.
This is what Hextech can do: In the meantime, the origin Hextech has been slightly adjusted. If you own two Hextech champions, an impulse will be cast on a champion with items, disabling them for eight seconds.
If you own all four, the opposing champions in the direct vicinity will also be affected by the deactivation.
2. Nerf to the Void Creatures
Why is the nerf to Void creatures so important? Another significant change concerns the Void creatures Cho’Gath and Kha’Zix. Both are set to be weakened with Patch 9.16.
Currently, the Void creatures dominate the meta together with the Ice beings and rangers. This is also due to the fact that Cho’Gath is a real beast.
As a bruiser, Cho’Gath perfectly harmonizes with Rek’Sai, also a bruiser and Void creature. Three Void creatures together deal True Damage and thus ignore armor. This also benefits the assassin Kha’Zix.
For Cho’Gath, a damage reduction from 250/500/750 to 200/400/600 is planned.
3. Nerf for Static Shiv
Which items will be changed in the patch? Currently, the item Static Shiv is almost solely responsible for the popularity of rangers.
You often encounter the champion Ashe, who is equipped with Static Shiv three times in a row. A nerf is thus justified.
In addition to Static Shiv, the item Ionic Spark will also be nerfed. In return, there will be buffs for Infinity Edge, Redemption, and the Locket of the Iron Solari.
The Locket is a recurring topic in Teamfight Tactics, after 3 consecutive nerfs, it was almost unplayable.
4. Buff for Ahri and Wilds in general
Why is there a buff for Ahri? In the current meta, mages do play a role, but often one skips Ahri, who is too weak compared to the other champions.
Currently, wild champions also have no place in the meta. A buff combined with the nerf to the currently best combos will certainly help them.
5. Rework of Demons and Silence
What is wrong with Demons? For about 2 weeks, Demons dominated the TFT meta, then they got weakened and have fallen sharply.
The upcoming patch is set to include a rework of the Demon origin. Instead of causing True Damage equal to the mana burned, the Demons now use the mana themselves. Specifically, the change is as follows:
- Demon attacks have a 40% chance to burn 30 mana from the opponent and gain 15/30/45 mana.
There is also to be a significant overhaul for the Silence weapon.
