On the night, patch 9.15b appeared in Teamfight Tactics. It brought minor balance changes, mainly affecting the items.
What is the biggest change? The item Runaan’s Hurricane received a significant buff. A champion with this item attacks a second target automatically with each attack.
The damage to the second target was previously only 25% of the actual attack. This value has now been tripled to 75%.
Additionally, the item also activates on-hit effects from other items or abilities. In the current meta with marksmen and ice beings, this item is a must-have for Ashe or Volibear.
There is a special interaction with multiple versions of Runaan’s Hurricane. The second item also copies the attack of the first. Thus, with two items, you directly attack four targets, and with three items, even eight.
Guardian Angel gets the desired nerf
What items have been strengthened? In addition to Runaan’s Hurricane, there are also other items that received a buff:
- Guinsoo’s Rageblade – The attack speed per stack has been increased from 4% to 5%.
- Phantom Dancer – The holder can now dodge critical ability hits. This change particularly affects the champion Akali, who landed critical hits with her ability.
- Sword of the Divine – The activation chance has been increased from 5% to 7%.
What items have been weakened? In the current meta, particularly the Guardian Angel and Morellonomicon are very popular. Both received a small nerf with this patch:
- Guardian Angel – The life after resurrection has been reduced from 1,000 to 800.
- Morellonomicon – The burn damage has been reduced from 25% to 20%.
The end of assassins?
Which champions have been buffed by the patch? Spellcasters are already very popular in their current form. Nevertheless, Veigar can still look forward to a buff:
- Elise – Her attack damage has been increased from 40 to 45. The attack damage of the spiders has also been increased from 40 to 50.
- Veigar – The ability damage has been increased from 300/500/700 to 300/550/800.
Which champions have been weakened? The last patch made the champions Cho’Gath and Pyke incredibly strong. The Void creature escaped a nerf, but Pyke and others have been affected:
- Karthus – The ability damage has been reduced from 400/700/1,000 to 350/600/850, and the number of targets from 5/9/13 to 5/7/9.
- Kayle – The mana required to activate the ability has been increased from 100 to 125.
- Pyke – The stun duration has been reduced from 2/2.5/3 to 1.5/2/2.5.
- Rengar – The attack speed bonus of the ability has been reduced from 0.4/0.7/1.0 to 0.3/0.5/0.7.
The changes to Pyke and Rengar further weaken the assassins a bit, who were already struggling with a nerf in patch 9.14b.
Changes to Twisted Fate? The official patch notes mention changes to Twisted Fate, but these are not yet in the game. They have accidentally slipped into the list, as Game Designer Mortdog mentioned on Twitter.
We have to wait another week for the release of patch 9.16. This is expected to bring four new champions:
