In Teamfight Tactics, the LoL Auto Chess, Riot Games has announced what’s in the upcoming update, the LoL Patch 9.14b. They have released a kind of pre-patch notes. A hotfix is even already live.
When is the patch coming? Teamfight Tactics will be patched weekly until further notice. The update 9.14b is expected to be released on Wednesday, July 24.
What has changed already: A hotfix is already live. The item “Locket of the Iron Solari” now only grants 200 shield – instead of 300 as before.
The team states: “We did this so you can have as much fun as possible over the weekend.”
The controversial, defensive buff item is set to be further changed.
This is the situation: When you play a lot of Teamfight Tactics, you notice how quickly players adjust to patch changes. Currently, in many rounds, Assassin combos or Elementalists are at the top. Additionally, specific heroes like Tristana or items like Cursed Blade or Redemption are being used.
Other combos like Wild or Sorcerer are hardly seen anymore because their “counter combos” are so strong. Demons completely dismantle Sorcerers, and Wild struggles to penetrate Assassins.
Therefore, Riot Games is now changing the meta in Teamfight Tactics again.
These are the 6 buffs in Teamfight Tactics
Getting stronger:
- Ahri – the mage is currently almost only played in “Wild combinations” and they are rarely seen
- Mordekaiser – only seen in the early game when RNG offers a twin or triplet early on here
- Poppy – the Yordle tank is also hardly seen in Teamfight Tactics – at best in 6 Yordle troops. For a Tier-3 heroine, Poppy doesn’t seem strong enough.
- The item Morellonomicon – it was once too strong and is now, in Riot’s eyes, too weak. It is often played on heroes like Lucian or Pyke .
- Sorcerer – the mages have fallen a bit behind in the meta of Teamfight Tactics – today many Ninjas or Demons are played, both regarded as counters against Sorcerers.
- Wild – the combo is hardly seen anymore since the game has progressed a bit. Wilds struggle to assert themselves against aggressive (Assassins) or defensive tactics (Elementalists).
These are the 5 nerfs in Teamfight Tactics
Getting weaker:
- Tristana – the Tier-1 heroine is currently seen constantly in games with Red Buff and Cursed Blade, even into the late game. She is easily brought to 3-stars and has enormous range with nasty effects.
- Volibear – often serves as the tank in Elemental combos and then distributes ice stuns. Nasty bear.
- Locket of the Iron Solari – has actually already been nerfed, but is still too strong. The problem is that players like to stack 3 to 5 of these items and then give the hero shields from 900 to 1500. – This nerf is already live, it now only grants 200 shield points instead of 300 as before.
- Assassins – in combination with Ninjas are probably too strong and deal massive damage here.
- Elementalists – here the summoned golem absorbs the damage. This provides the time that strong units like Brand, Kennen, or Anivia need to get going.
These 4 bugs are being fixed:
- The Raptors will always drop loot with the patch – they may have forgotten to do so at times.
- Guardian Angel, the extra life for heroes, will reliably trigger in Teamfight Tactics.
- Redemption will heal 1000 HP as planned, instead of 1000% as currently – many are currently using the item to bring their front line back to full HP in the midst of battle.
- The buff of the Guardians will still work even when they are already dead.
Here are the reactions: The current meta is mostly seen critically by Twitter users. However, the changes now announced do not make complete sense to the players either.
Currently, many find the “Cursed Blade” too strong. Hits with this item have the chance to lower a hero’s star level. This is considered “broken” because it takes Champs out of the game. It is depressing when a level-3 Titan turns into a pitiful level-1 sausage.
One would have wished for a nerf.
The changes to the mages are not understood by all – many players in Teamfight Tactics would have preferred a nerf to the currently dominant Ninjas. Right now, Akali seems to go crazy at times.
