Fortnite is played by many children and teenagers. Scammers find it easy to target them. With the promise of free V-Bucks or dubious offers to play Fortnite Mobile on Android phones, they gain access to personal data.
As an experienced internet user and gamer, one develops a sixth sense over the years for when danger is looming:
- If an offer sounds too good to be true, it’s usually a scam.
- Whenever some weird website asks you to download something or enter data, you should back off.
- And if an exiled Ugandan prince only needs a small financial boost to access the fortune he has embezzled – then you might send him the money, but you’ll have a bad feeling about it.

Fortnite – a paradise for scammers?
However, it seems that many players in Fortnite haven’t developed this sixth sense yet. Since Fortnite is played by many children and teenagers, who lack these experiences, scam sites are thriving.
An analysis of Google search data indicates that people in Germany are increasingly searching for and landing on websites that are clearly fraudulent and apparently want to access players’ data.
One website after another promises: “Free V-Bucks” if you just enter your account name.

These websites are completely unreliable. They use the graphics from Fortnite but have nothing to do with the developer Epic.
Fortnite for Android?
Currently, a popular website claims to offer “Fortnite for Android phones.”
Warning signs here could include: They use text that appears to be from GTA.

We asked Epic for a statement regarding this site that promises Fortnite for Android. This is a service that Epic cannot yet provide. Therefore, anyone who enters their login details there is exposing themselves to a risk.
Because Fortnite Mobile on Android is still a while away.
Clearly, there are no free V-Bucks. No one can provide those. It is always a scam to gain access to data. Such sites want to exploit naive players who are so eager for free V-Bucks or Fortnite Mobile that they become careless.
