After the last beta of Tarisland was plagued by Pay2Win accusations, the developers are now returning with an update in which they want to listen to community feedback.
What kind of game is this? Tarisland is an Asian MMORPG that is set to be released for both PC and mobile devices. The MMORPG is being developed by Tencent and is considered China’s answer to WoW. Both graphically and in terms of gameplay, the game resembles the original.
Although the game promised to be Free2Play without Pay2Win, a version of the shop was presented for the first time in the last beta, which did not sit well with players. For many, the promise of non-Pay2Win had been broken.

Tarisland listens to player feedback – Changes 3 areas
Why do the developers want to change something? The developers state in a Discord post that they have actively listened to feedback from the beta and plan several changes. During the beta, players were regularly surveyed about their opinion on the game day and current content.
What changes are expected in PvE? There will be challenging content in PvE. Dungeons and raids will receive a “Challenge Mode” designed for players who found it too easy so far.
Equipment will also receive some balancing changes so that players experience more “strategic depth” when combining the right gear.
Additionally, they want fewer random occurrences when collecting equipment in the game. The “Arcane Realm” will also receive additional rewards to improve character growth.
What about PvP? PvP is set to become fairer. In a new 3 vs. 3 mode, it should focus more on skill and strategy. Moreover, all classes will receive 5 new PvP-specific talents to choose from, providing more depth to the PvP experience.
What is happening with crafting? There are also plans to change crafting. Crafting is to be simplified to make it more accessible for players. Additionally, with consistent recipes, more items will result in the end to better meet market needs.
To pacify the community, there will now be less Pay2Win
What is changing about Pay2Win? The developers of Tarisland have now announced that the crafting of equipment pieces will be limited. This means fewer pieces of equipment can be crafted.
Some equipment pieces will only be available through PvE content. Players will thus no longer be able to obtain certain equipment without having played PvE.
In the future, the developer also wants to tackle further points in the area of Pay2Win. This includes commercial content and the so-called “Inscribed Stone” system, which also had a degree of Pay2Win. Furthermore, they want to work on the classes. It was only in the last beta that there was a new class in Tarisland.
