Call of Duty: Warzone has brought a few new mechanics into the game with the launch of Season 4 – including satellite loot. Through the crashing technology, you can acquire powerful items like armored trucks. However, the motorized beasts were so broken that they were removed again.
What’s going on in Warzone? The new Season 4 has begun. On Thursday, June 17th, a new content cycle started, and the battle royale Call of Duty: Warzone benefited from a handful of innovations that expanded the gameplay:
- “Red Doors” Fast Travel
- Crash Event at Season Start
- Motorcycles as new vehicles
- Fresh locations
- New killstreaks

The crash event has a significantly high impact on the current gameplay in Warzone. Via uplink stations, you can acquire satellites from orbit to loot and collect extremely powerful items. This includes a free loadout drop, the H.A.R.P. killstreak for perfect reconnaissance, or heavy armored trucks.
However, the trucks went a bit overboard and were removed from Warzone in less than 24 hours.
Armored trucks trigger players and an old glitch
What can the armored trucks do? You acquire the trucks similarly to a loadout crate. You mark your position with a smoke signal, and a big aircraft delivers the armored vehicle to you via air. The base model is comparable to the usual “Berthas,” as the trucks are called by the community. However, the armored trucks have a machine gun on the driver’s roof that a player can occupy.
Thus, the armored trucks are already strong without upgrades, but that’s not all. At the rear section of the vehicle, you will find an upgrade console. Here, you can enhance the truck with a permanent recon drone or armor plates. You can even attach a built-in trophy system to the armored truck for cash.
Moreover, the trucks offer supplies. Through the console, you can purchase crates with armor plates or ammunition. Even repairing the truck is possible via the upgrade console. We are including a short clip where you can examine the upgrade console and the truck’s machine gun:
So OP and removed? The armored trucks were part of the normal “battle royale” mode and really extremely strong. Even without upgrades, the trucks allow strong strategies – with built-in weapons, a persistent drone, and extra armor, the vehicles are simply overwhelming.
However, that wasn’t the reason for the trucks’ removal. Developer Raven explained 14 hours after the introduction that the trucks would be temporarily removed from players due to an invisibility glitch:

The link in the tweet leads to a Trello board. Here, the developers note and show which bugs they are currently working on. Under the point regarding invisible players, the developers write: “The armored trucks were removed to avoid the problem. We continue our investigations to find a permanent solution.”
Invisibility glitch makes weaponized vehicles broken: Currently, it is rather unlikely that the trucks will return to the game until the end of the satellite event. The event runs until next Thursday, June 24th.
Because the attack helicopters are struggling with a similar problem. The armed version of the normal helicopters should actually have been in the game since the launch of the first combined season of Warzone and Cold War in December 2020. However, due to the invisibility glitch, the helicopters have not yet made it into the game – a second introduction attempt failed miserably.
What do players say about the trucks? Initial backlash has subsided since the trucks were removed from the game again. However, shortly after the first insane videos showcasing gameplay of the armored trucks in Warzone appeared, some players were already furious:

For many players, the armored trucks seem too strong, and such a vehicle has no place in the normal “battle royale” mode. Some will likely be pleased that the glitch led to the trucks’ disappearance.
Season 4 has brought many innovations to Warzone and thereby allows new tactics to help with victory. However, due to the strong Season 3, where the weapon meta was as good as never before in Warzone, it sometimes feels like a setback. Because even the new LMG MG 82 is OP and many players logically want to benefit from the advantages of the new weapon.
If the developers remain committed to their open and thoughtful approach from Season 3, adjustments should follow shortly. However, with the introduction of the armored truck, they did themselves no favors. Even though it was really fun when you were behind the wheel of a souped-up truck.
