Talion is actually a mobile MMORPG that was ported to PC in 2020. There it promised to be a “Next Gen” MMORPG and provide “unique experiences”. But soon there will be an end to the game. What happened?
What kind of game is it actually? The MMORPG Talion is perhaps known as a mobile MMORPG. It was released on this platform in 2019 and impressed us back then with its nice graphics and a deep gameplay that, despite auto-grinding, was quite complex.
However, less well known is that there is also a PC version of Talion. It launched in the summer of 2020 and was supposed to offer a “unique MMORPG experience” according to the developers and was marketed as a next-gen MMORPG for PC.
What happened to Talion on PC? But when you look at pictures and videos of Talion on PC, it quickly becomes clear that these are very optimistic announcements. The graphics do not look next-gen at all; rather, the presentation seems to come from the last decade. A user under a trailer on YouTube even said, “Wow, the graphics are really stunning for the year 2002!”
Furthermore, several players accuse the developers of simply being lazy by copying and pasting the mobile version to PC without any optimization.
Given such reviews and evaluations, it is hardly surprising that Talion is already being shut down. According to an announcement from the developers on the Talion website and via Facebook, the game will end on July 19, 2021.
It states: “We apologize for not being able to meet your expectations and provide you with satisfactory service.”
Anyone who has spent money in the game can also seek a refund.
What is happening with the mobile version of Talion?
Is the mobile version going down as well? If you enjoyed playing Talion on your mobile device running iOS or Android, you don’t have to worry. The mobile game is still running and has a solid rating of 4.0 stars with over 80,000 reviews in the Play Store.
It doesn’t look like the publisher Gamevil will be pulling the plug here anytime soon. You can still play the mobile MMORPG on your phone or tablet. And unlike the unfortunate PC version, the graphics and performance on mobile are still good.
