The Faker team, T1, has been considered one of the best in League of Legends for years. After all, they have already secured 6 World Championship titles. However, they lost to a Twitch streamer’s team because they messed up.
Faker is arguably the most legendary LoL player of all time. With T1, he managed to win the Worlds for the 6th time in 2025. At the event Red Bull League of Its Own
, which took place this year on 29.11.2025 in Munich, the Korean champion team faced European opponents. Among them:
- The German
Retired Team
NNO - This year’s LEC champions G2
- The French team Karmine Corp
- And the team of streamer Caedrel, Los Ratones
At the tournament, only one match was played at a time, and there was the special rule that champions could only be played once throughout the entire tournament. The last match of T1 against Los Ratones was particularly exciting because one had to settle for a low champion pool.
For viewers, it was probably the most exciting match of the day because one saw T1 and Faker from a completely different perspective.
Faker unusually as a Support
How did the match go? Right from the champion selection, it was clear: T1 wanted to have fun. Unlike in previous matches, the Korean team mixed it up quite a bit, opting for unusual positions:
- Doran stayed on the top lane with Kayle
- In the jungle, the new ADC Peyz played as Vayne
- Oner tried himself as Lulu on the mid lane
- Keria was the ADC with Kai’Sa
- Faker played the support
Los Ratones also showcased unusual picks:
- Baus played his favorite champ Sion on the top lane
- Nemesis experimented with Teemo in the jungle
- Velja opted for Cassiopeia on the mid lane
- Rekkles played as ADC again, this time with Jhin
- Crownie was quite absurd with Twitch as support
Although T1 managed to establish a large gold advantage relatively early, Los Ratones slowly caught up after 15 minutes. After about 20 minutes, Los Ratones, known for their unconventional play styles, took the lead and managed to finish the match after about 28 minutes.
If you closely examine the match and the player cameras (via YouTube), you can see that both teams had a lot of fun. T1 seemed to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the new roles
very much. You can regularly see them laughing and making risky moves. This is also very much appreciated by the community.
How does the community react to the match? In a Reddit thread about the event, the match is received quite positively, especially because the players apparently had so much fun. mar33n (Reddit) particularly noted one player: T1 had so much fun that Doran couldn’t stop laughing in the last minutes.
Faker’s playstyle also stood out. Ashankura (Reddit) writes: Faker is such a troll, it’s insane. Absolutely insane. But Los Ratones also received praise as they now have a 100 percent win rate against T1, after 2 matches over 2 years.
Seeing T1 in a much more relaxed situation is a highlight for many players. The German team NNO was also able to hold its own against the world champions in 2024, even though they had a stand-in: LoL: Twitch streamer jumped in for sick friend, defeated world champion Faker, immediately retires
