The developers of Star Wars: The Old Republic do not want to talk about the future. Some fans draw hope from exactly that.
Meanwhile, the year 2019 is no longer so young, and therefore the fans of Star Wars: The Old Republic are sitting on hot coals. After all, it is tradition for BioWare to reveal a small roadmap at the beginning of the year and share what the developers have planned for the coming months.
But this time that did not happen. Some fans therefore asked in the official forum when new information could be expected.
More transparency in the patches: The community manager Eric Musco explained in the forum that there are currently no plans to publish a roadmap for the coming months. This is because they are currently much more transparent with the patches, testing them more thoroughly and involving the community more. Shortly after the current patch 5.10.1, the next patch 5.10.2 will already be deployed.
However, he pointed out that they “definitely plan to participate in the Star Wars Celebration” taking place in April. That would be “a good place to reveal more details for the current year”.
New expansion in the making? BioWare’s silence also fits well with the possibility that SWTOR is currently working on a new expansion. In April 2018, we already reported that BioWare mentioned that “Patch 6.0 will be a new expansion that refocuses the war between the Republic and the Empire” – this would also align with what we have seen in the last patches.
Are you excited about the future of SWTOR? Do you think a new expansion is coming? Or do you think the silence is rather a bad omen for the game’s downfall?
