Level Synchronization on the Planets
The most controversial change is the so-called level synchronization, which takes place on all planets in the game. This ensures that your character level is always reduced to the level of the respective planet. If you return as a level 65 veteran to Nar Shaddaa, attributes and character values will be lowered to level 24.
Fortunately, you retain your talents and abilities, so you will still be significantly stronger. This new feature is intended to ensure that old areas remain challenging even later on and that veterans can choose to catch up on old quests with less challenge whenever they feel like it.
The Main Path – Leveling Twinks Made Easy
Lastly, the developers have revamped all old missions and integrated them into a new system. Instead of having to complete numerous side quests painstakingly on each planet, class missions and story-relevant planet quests have been assigned to the new “main path”. Old side missions will no longer be displayed by default, but can be re-enabled upon request.
The entire leveling progress should now work significantly faster and smoother for new characters, as this has been oriented towards the 12x XP boost. The core message here is also: Players should be able to focus on the story, not on tedious grind mechanics.
Apart from the points described above, there are numerous smaller changes to the various classes. You can view these in detail on our SWTOR theme page or simply convince yourself of them in the game: To do this, you can register here on the official website of Star Wars: The Old Republic.
