The fans of SWTOR are longing for new information about Knights of the Fallen Empire and the developers have delivered: Urgent questions about the companions have been answered.
Old Companions Remain – But Not in the Story
Much about KotFE, the next expansion of SWTOR, is still unclear. Many players are particularly concerned about the future of their companions, whom they have gathered over the years. The most pressing questions have now been answered in the official forum, with fans encouraged to ask more questions – provided they remain free of story spoilers. But let’s get to the facts:
- All old companions remain. They will not be usable in the story chapters, but can still be summoned outside the plot of the expansion.
- Each companion can now fill any role: As a tank, healer, or DPS. This means you can always choose the companion you find interesting, rather than the one you need for a specific role. This system will also be applied to the old content (level 1-60).
- Gear for companions will be purely cosmetic. Instead, the stats of the companions will scale with the player’s level and their Presence attribute.
- Your companions’ affection will also remain with KotFE. It will not be reset or changed. If Ashara loves and adores you, she will continue to do so with the launch of the expansion.
