Finally, the developers reveal how Star Wars: The Old Republic will progress in 2018. We take a look at the roadmap for autumn.
Just yesterday, we reported that the mood in SWTOR is currently quite tense. Fans are longing for answers from the developers, and many players complain that there are currently hardly any fresh contents. Now BioWare has delivered and published the “Roadmap Autumn 2018”. The roadmap covers the rest of the year and explains what content is still to come.
PvP Summer Update
Especially PvP players will be excited, as they are the focus of the September update. At the end of this month, update 5.9.3 “Fame and Fortune” will be released. There is a new Huttball warzone where 16 players (8 vs. 8) can gather to entertain the Hutts once again and score a lot of points.
Story Update Patch 5.10
Later in autumn, update 5.10 will follow, titled “Siege of the Jedi”. This update will advance the story of SWTOR. Here, there will be:
- An ancient, devastated Jedi world
- A new area with daily missions
- Many popular characters will return
- Empire and Republic will have different storylines
Fans of the old companions can also rejoice, as some of them will return:
- Jedi Knights can reunite with Doc
- Jedi Diplomats will find Nadia again, their former Padawan
- Sith Warriors can find Jaesa again – but only if they chose her dark side back then
Additionally, there are many quality-of-life improvements that focus mainly on guilds this time:
- A new progress system for guilds
- More guild ranks will be possible
- Players can send letters directly to the whole guild
- A comprehensive guild log that records player activities
- Disruptive players can be completely removed with a “Legacy Ban” – they will then have no option to join the guild again
Lastly, there is also the “Master” mode for the operation “Gods from the Machine”.
A Look at 2019
However, SWTOR is not coming to an end anytime soon. Even though the developers do not share concrete details, the conflict between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic is supposed to escalate into “a massive war” with new planets and many new, as well as returning characters. While this all sounds like a new expansion, it is not explicitly named.
