In Star Wars: The Old Republic players can now travel to the planet Dantooine. The events there led to the next major expansion.
The MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic by BioWare has received a new patch. Update 5.10.3 “Attack on Dantooine” introduced the new planet Dantooine, where players can now frolic. In line with this, there is now an attack by space pirates. All this is slowly leading up to the escalating conflict of the next major expansion.
Pirate Event for Two Weeks: On Dantooine, the new “Pirate Attack” event is now active, from June 4th to June 18th. The event is deeply connected to the planet; however, Dantooine also has a lot to offer aside from the event and can be explored at any time. Those participating in the pirate attack have a chance to earn plenty of special rewards that are only available during the event, including:
- Nova Blade Shooter armor set and Dantooine Landowner armor set
- A Kath Hound mount
- Dantooine-themed stronghold decorations
- An Ugnaught companion, the quick Vrik
Some missions on Dantooine are also only available once the event is over and peace is restored. So returning multiple times is worthwhile.
Dantooine is an old fan favorite: Dantooine is a planet that is repeatedly mentioned in the “Star Wars” saga and has already been visited in several games. Older fans will surely remember Knights of the Old Republic (KotOR) or some episodes of the “Clone Wars” in which Dantooine appeared. Many players are excited to be able to visit this planet once again.
Next expansion in September: In late summer this year SWTOR will receive a new expansion. In “Onslaught,” the conflict between Jedi and Sith (or Republic and Empire) once again takes center stage, moving further away from the story of previous expansions. Even beforehand, SWTOR had brought back old villains like Darth Malgus, who will likely play a central role in “Onslaught”.
